Burglary

Burglary is a serious crime.

If you are convicted of a first degree felony, you will face life in prison. A second degree felony can result in 15 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Even a third degree felony can be harsh – punishable by 5 years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

You need a lawyer who knows this practice area inside and out.

Your freedom and your life are at stake.

There are two types of burglary: (1) where the person entered without permission; and (2) where the person entered with permission but did not leave when asked to, or remained without the owner’s knowledge.

To win the first type of case (entering without permission), the prosecutor must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that you entered without permission and that you entered with the intent to commit an offense.

To win the second type of case (entering with permission and not leaving), the prosecutor must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that you entered with permission, then stayed either inside secretly or stayed inside after being asked to leave, and with the intention of committing a crime.

We have a great deal of experience representing people accused of burglary and we know how to present your case in ways that establish reasonable doubt. We tailor our strategy and defense to the facts of your particular situation in ways that are the most likely to help you avoid prosecution or conviction. We aggressively protect your rights throughout the process.
